How long have you been involved in dairy farming?
Our family has been involved in dairy farming since 1947.
What inspired you to become a dairy farmer?
My great-grandmother was a dairy farmer back in the 1940s, and my dad and grandfather have been farming since before I was born. After years of watching their passion for their cows and farm, I immediately wanted to let the world know about agriculture and why it was so important to me.
What’s your favorite part about being a dairy farmer?
My favorite part about being a dairy farmer is being able to take the cows that our farm has raised and show them at local, state and world cattle shows. Meeting new friends and making long lasting relationships with different farmers has been an experience I’ll never forget.
Share your farm family memory.
Every time someone asks us about our farm memory, our minds are immediately drawn to the farm fire back in 2007. Our milking parlor and straw barn burnt within minutes. It was amazing to see how many community members and farmers were out there on that hot June day to help us haul away cows to their farms and offer their help. To this day, our family cannot thank these individuals and families enough for all their help.
