Chunk cheese is a dairy aisle staple – one that is a consistently good seller and has huge spikes in sales around the holidays too. Modern store set-ups in the dairy aisle often leave very narrow shelf openings for chunk cheese that can make the items look out of stock even when they aren’t. American Dairy Association North East noticed this and began implementing cheese pushers at local retailers to solve this problem.
Cheese pushers use a spring-loaded system to push cheese to the front of the shelf so customers know it is available for purchase.
Not only do pushers ensure customers can easily see and buy chunk cheese, leading to year over year sales increase of 4% in one study, but they also reduce labor costs by 4.6%.
