Another Busy Week of Milk Distribution Planned – 62,800 Gallons to be Delivered

This week, more than 62,800 gallons of milk will be distributed to New York and Pennsylvania families in need, as ADA North East continues to work with local dairy processors, cooperatives and community groups.

Seven drive-through events are scheduled, in addition to six drop-off locations. Dairy Farmers of America, Harrisburg Dairies, Schneider’s Dairy and Upstate Niagara Cooperative are providing the milk purchased through the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP).

Dairy farmer Eric Zuber of Zuber Farms, Byron, N.Y., participated in today’s milk drive in Rochester, N.Y. The milk was provided by Upstate Niagara Cooperative, the co-op where Zubers ship their milk.

“I can't believe all the people that showed up for this giveaway today - they were lined up more than an hour before we started,” said Zuber. “It’s great to see everybody working together – all the volunteers and dairy princesses. Feeding people is pretty noble and it makes me feel good to give back to my community.”

Dairy farmer Kendra Lamb of Lamb Farms, Batavia, N.Y., was interviewed by WBEE-FM about the milk drive.

Additional drive-through events in New York include: Clayton, Saratoga County, Tioga and Chemung counties, and Central Square.

In Pennsylvania drive-through events are set for Hastings, Uniontown, Harrisburg/Hershey, and Lebanon.
