Dairy Farmers Speak Up for Dairy in Media Interviews at Milk Distribution Events

This week, several dairy farmers volunteered at milk distribution events coordinated by American Dairy Association North East to get more than 62,000 gallons of milk to families in need. Nearly 400,000 gallons of milk have been distributed across the region since mid-May.

Diane Hoover of Brook Corner Dairy in Lebanon, Pa., is participating in today’s milk drive from 3-6 p.m., in Lebanon, Pa. “The milk drives have been a great show of ‘neighbor helping neighbor,’ said Hoover. “As a dairy farmer who is part of American Dairy Association and Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, it’s good to see our product being appreciated by those who need it so much during these difficult times.”

Eric Zuber of Zuber Farms in Byron, N.Y., volunteered at the milk drive in Rochester on Tuesday, recognizing the need to help support his local community while also supporting the dairy industry. He was interviewed by several television stations, including WROC-8 and Spectrum Local News. 


Kendra Lamb of Lamb Farms in Batavia was interviewed on WBEE-FM before the Rochester milk drive to explain the event to listeners.

On Wednesday, Kathy Hanehan of Hanehan Family Farms in Saratoga, participated in the milk drive at the Saratoga Fairgrounds. Hanehan, New York State Alternate Dairy Princess Erin Artmitage, Rensselaer County Dairy Princess Courtney Bruso and Rensselaer County Dairy Ambassador Rebecca Bruso were photographed for the Daily Gazette

The milk distributed this week from Dairy Farmers of America, H.P. Hood, Upstate Niagara Cooperative, Clover Farms, Schneider’s Dairy and Harrisburg Dairies was purchased with funds from the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP).
