Dairy farmers continue to support local families in need through facilitating distribution of food boxes that each contain a gallon of milk. Last week, ADA North East worked with local partners to get 5,000 boxes given to Pennsylvania families, through the Farmers to Families Food Box program through USDA’s Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) government-funded grants.

“Mel’s ‘whatever it takes’ approach has helped his YMCA team get 704 tons of food to Pennsylvania families in need through the pandemic,” said Chrisman. “He’s a great partner for our dairy farmers and ADA North East.”

This week another 7,656 boxes will be distributed through the Salvation Army in Syracuse, N.Y., and in Pennsylvania through food distribution and community organizations Cocoa Packs in Hershey, the Hope Center in Nescopeck, State Line Community Center in Waynesboro, and YMCA of Centre County.
