Lisbon, N.Y., Dairy Farmer Demonstrates Dairy Recipes on Weis Facebook Live Broadcast

Allison Akins of Five Mile Farm, Lisbon, N.Y., joined ADA North East nutrition specialist Michelle Barber on a Facebook Live interview with Weis Markets’ Registered Dietitian Beth Stark. Promotions like this engage consumers who are interested in food and nutrition and who will purchase more dairy products to try the recipes at home.

More than 5,000 viewers tuned into the Facebook Live session offering nearly 200 comments and questions to the trio. Together, they made recipes that included milk, Cabot Creamery Greek Yogurt and Cabot Creamery cheeses, the cooperative of which Five Mile Farm is a member. Akins also provided dairy trivia questions for the viewing audience to answer.

During the presentations, a sweepstakes for Weis or Cabot gift cards was offered to viewers who liked, commented and shared the ADA North East or Weis Facebook pages.
