National School Breakfast Week Events Focus on Dairy to Increase Sales, Options for Students

To recognize National School Breakfast Week – March 2-6 - ADA North East is helping schools get more dairy included in school breakfasts through our Breakfast After the Bell program, which is proven to increase milk sales.

By year-end 2019, an additional 247,154 students participated in Breakfast After the Bell, which translated to 185,366 additional half-pints of milk served daily (or additional 99,634 pounds of milk per day).

ADA North East is hosting three breakfast events later this week in New York City to place new breakfast carts in schools to make more milk, yogurt and cheese available each day for students, which will help increase sales in schools. In Maryland, we are gathering state school decision-makers, legislators and anti-hunger advocates to showcase successful school breakfast programs and present opportunities to increase dairy use. Stay tuned for details in next week’s Checkoff Check-In!
