ADA North East staff shared dairy information with school nutrition directors at the School Nutrition Association of Pennsylvania annual conference in Hershey. Our Youth Programs team highlighted dairy nutrition programs like the successful hot chocolate milk program piloted last year that will now be added to the tool kit provided to local school nutrition directors. Our team also promoted the Strive for 35 program that helps schools keep milk cold to boost students’ take-rate.
Beth Meyer, ADA North East Director of Consumer Confidence, and Keith Kobland from Syracuse University presented “Responding Effectively to Routine and Crisis Situations” to help the audience learn to share good news about school meals in person, online, and in the media. More than 40 people attended the workshop, recognizing the need for positive messaging related to milk and dairy in school lunches.
