Virtual Farm Tour Training Tips for Farmers Offered Locally, Nationally

Interested in learning tried and true tactics to hosting virtual farm tours? ADA North East and Dairy Management, Inc., have resources to help dairy farmers prepare for and execute successful educational experiences for non-farm audiences.

ADA North East hosted an online training seminar that covered topics related to pre-tour considerations, equipment suggestions, media platform options, and ideas to celebrate June Dairy Month. To access the video recording, contact Emma Andrew-Swarthout for the link.

When planning a tour, the main messages to consider sharing are animal care and the environment, and how high-quality milk is produced on the farm.

DMI featured ADA North East’s virtual farm tour program in a recent Hoard’s Dairyman article, as an example of a successful program.  Our tours have racked up more than 206,500 views – a jump from the initial 23,000 views in the three-season series before the quarantine began.
