Dairy farmer Joel Riehlman of Venture Farms, Fabius, N.Y., and his Onondaga County 4-H Club participated in a milk distribution drive today in Syracuse. More than 8,000 gallons of milk made available for families in need through Nourish New York and the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP). The milk was purchased from Dairy Farmers of America.

An estimated 3,200 cars were expected to pass through the distribution location at the Destiny USA Mall that also included meat, produce and additional dairy foods.

“As a dairy farmer, my passion is feeding families,â€_x009d_ said Riehlman. “I’m proud to help play a role in ensuring families throughout our community are able to have wholesome, nourishing milk for their kitchen tables.â€_x009d_

Dairy farmer Lisa Porter of Porterdale Farms, Adams Center, N.Y., and members of the Jefferson County Dairy Promotion team will help distribute 4,000 gallons of milk purchased from Upstate Niagara Cooperative in Watertown, N.Y., on Thursday.

ADA North East plans to help facilitate the distribution of more than 200,000 gallons of milk during June.
