As part of ADA North East’s retail efforts to promote National Dairy Month, we are working with Tops Markets and ShopRite to promote dairy sales through online shopping. Thanks to e-commerce capabilities, the stores’ loyalty card users’ email addresses are recognized while on the internet and dairy ads appear on their screens.

Two likely scenarios happen as a result – shoppers click on the ad and go directly to the site to buy milk, or it serves as a reminder to buy milk when shopping online or in the store.  The loyalty card data targets consumers who have purchased dairy in the past.

ADA North East has expanded into e-commerce during the pandemic with half of all U.S. shoppers – or more than 70% of U.S. households – buying groceries online at least occasionally. In 2021, online grocery sales reached $97.7 billion!
