Local dairy farmers are in the spotlight, thanks to “This American Dairy Farmer”. That’s because local media are picking up on the story and featuring the farmers in in-depth stories of their own.
Local coverage has included:
- WENY News – Painterland Sisters recognized by American Dairy Association
- The Daily News – For the love of farming: Sutherland shares farm experiences at home and abroad
- Rochester First – Farming continues to evolve in western New York
- Auburnpub.com – Dairy association video features Cayuga County farmer
- Tompkins Weekly – New generation hopes to continue dairy farm’s success
The series was developed to offer consumers a behind-the-scenes look at dairy farms and the families who operate them, while helping make a personal connection with those who produce their food. It has garnered more than 1.5 million views since launching during the pandemic.
“Our dairy farmers all have a unique story to tell, and connecting consumers with those who are producing affordable, nutrient-rich dairy products is critical to building trust and sales in dairy,” said ADA North East CEO John Chrisman. “More and more, people make food purchasing decisions based on production practices so we’re sharing the faces of farmers who are committed to providing a safe, delicious and sustainable product.”
