Today, dairy farmer Casi Long from Spring City, Pa., helped ADA North East and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture unveil the 31st butter sculpture at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg, themed “Harvesting More, Together.”

Harvesting More, Together Butter Sculpture 2022

The sculpture depicts a dairy farmer in a rural community sharing a glass of milk with urban gardeners in front of a city skyline, celebrating how they come together to feed communities.

“The butter sculpture provides an amazing opportunity to open the conversation with the public about dairy products and where they come from,” said Long.

Constructed over a 14-day period, the sculpture was made by Jim Victor and Marie Pelton of Conshohocken, Pa., using more than 1,000 pounds of butter donated by Land O’Lakes in Carlisle, Pa.

Following the farm Show, the butter will be taken to the Reinford Farm in Mifflintown, Pa., to be converted into renewable energy in the farm’s methane digester.
