Dairy farmers work every day to care for their cows and their land – that’s sustainability.

We like to think of dairy cows as the original recyclers since up to 80% of their diet is food that cannot be eaten by humans. A good portion of that would end up in a landfill if cows weren’t there to eat it and enjoy it. And that’s just the beginning of dairy sustainability.

And cow feed is just one way that dairy farmers work to improve the land they care for. Dairy farmers also recycle water and re-use manure. Plus, they utilize energy efficient lighting and equipment and employ the latest technology whenever possible so they can get the most efficiency possible.

Did you know? Over a recent 10-year period, dairy farming used about:

0%
less land
0%
less water
0%
less fuel
0%
less feed
