Program Details

This unique training experience allows you to choose the specific topics your farm or group are most interested in.  These engaging sessions feature the latest tools, trends and data. Please request your training session at least four weeks in advance, to allow time for scheduling and customization. Our highly skilled team brings a combination of on-farm coupled with consumer-facing communications background.

Virtual Training Topics

This training covers the three key points that we want all consumers to walk away from a dairy farm knowing.  It covers how and why these key messages resonate with consumers while also showing how they are effective.  Finally, it provides real-life examples of how to relate your on-farm management practices back to the key areas consumers care about.  This training is great to hone your skills of talking to consumers or refresh your repertoire of consumer tested messages.

This training covers the basics of traditional media interviews for dairy farmers.  It discusses what those media opportunities may look like and how farmers can reinforce key messages when crafting their answers.  Finally, it covers tactics for what to do when a traditional media experience gets off track.  This training is good to refresh your skills with traditional media interviews.

This training covers the primary tactics recommended to use when answering difficult or uncomfortable questions from consumers.  It gives tactics to professionally, but effectively engage, educate, or disagree with consumers while protecting and preserving farmers’ good reputations.  Finally, it provides some examples of tough questions and how you can use the previous tactics to navigate answering them.  This training is great to sharpen your skills with discerning consumers while also learning new ways to redirect from tough topics.

This training covers the basics of the primary social media platforms in use today and how they are impacting consumers’ purchasing choices.  It explains why social media a is a good tool to connect farmers to consumers while also providing guidance as to how to avoid pitfalls of the various platforms.  Finally, it covers crafting social media posts to support key messages to further create a unified voice in dairy.  This training is great to explore the potential ways social media could help your farm connect more widely and effectively with consumers.

This training covers various aspects of hosting consumers on the farm.  It dives into how to structure tours around key messages, as well as how keep consumers engaged through those tours.  Finally, it dives into best practices for having consumers on farm and how to prepare for that. This training is good for group that will be hosting school tours or open farm days at the farm.

This training covers the focused topic of interacting with consumers at State and County Faris.  It focuses on the primary interactions that dairy farmers would have with consumers at fairs and how to enhance those experiences through focusing on key messaging and strategically answering tough questions.  Finally, it covers our best practices for working various fair events and handling potential associated media. This training is great to share with anyone heading to a county or state fair as well as youth agriculture groups.
