Maryland Dairy Farm Hosts Environmental Tour

ADA North East facilitated a tour for 14 Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay staff and board members at Fair Hill Farm owned by the Fry family in Chestertown, Md. The tour emphasized the farm’s environmental practices that benefit the Chesapeake Bay, but other topics included milk production and animal care. Hosting on-farm tours with environmental groups develops positive relationships and fosters their support and trust in the dairy industry.

The Frys were recently awarded an honorable mention our Dairying for Tomorrow (DFT) environmental stewardship award. The DFT awards are designed to recognize dairy farmers who are committed to moving the dairy industry into the future.
