ADA North East’s Breakfast After the Bell program is implemented throughout the year. By the end of 2019, an additional 101,065 New York students were served breakfast, which is an estimated additional 75,798 half-pints served daily, and 40,741 pounds of milk per day.

New yogurt and cheese strategies were also tested during the year, resulting in permanent placement on menus for the 2019-2020 school year. The yogurt program was initiated in 18 targeted New York school districts, showing an 156 percent increase in yogurt sales or an additional 24,462 four-ounce servings or 6,116 additional pounds of milk sold during the test periods.

Fifteen school districts participated in the cheese program that showed a 104 percent increase in cheese sales during the test periods, translating to an additional 19,455 pounds of cheese or 190,663 pounds of milk sold.
