This week, several New York dairy farmers volunteered at milk distribution events coordinated by American Dairy Association North East to get more than 47,000 gallons of milk to families in need. We helped facilitate interviews for the farmers with local media stations to talk about the milk drives and the important way dairy farmers contribute to the community.

Eric Zuber of Zuber Farms in Byron volunteered at the milk drive in Rochester on Tuesday. He was interviewed by several television stations including WROC-8 and Spectrum Local News.

Kendra Lamb of Lamb Farms in Batavia was interviewed on WBEE-FM before the Rochester milk drive to explain the event to listeners.

On Wednesday, Kathy Hanehan of Hanehan Family Farms in Saratoga, participated in the milk drive at the Saratoga Fairgrounds. Hanehan, New York State Alternate Dairy Princess Erin Artmitage, Rensselaer County Dairy Princess Courtney Bruso and Rensselaer County Dairy Ambassador Rebecca Bruso were photographed for the Daily Gazette.

The milk distributed this week was purchased with funds from the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP). Nearly 400,000 gallons of milk have been distributed across the region since mid-May.
