ADA North East wrapped up an action-packed week with dairy at the forefront reminding the nearly 500,000 Farm Show visitors of the important role the industry plays in their lives and in their local communities. We racked up numerous dairy farmer media interviews, thousands of face-to-face consumer interactions at Destination Dairy and the Calving Corner, more than 8,500 photos taken with the Undeniably Dairy milk glass, and celebrated $162,500 raised for Fill a Glass with Hope® that has already distributed 14 million servings of milk to those in need.
Undeniably Dairy Shake-Off
The week capped off with the third annual Undeniably Dairy Shake-Off. The fun contest featured local media personalities who developed their own milkshake recipes and prepared them live onstage.
Butter Sculpture Deconstruction
Dauphin County 4-H members helped deconstruct the annual butter sculpture on Sunday. The nearly 1,000 pounds of Land O’Lakes-donated butter went to Reinford Farms in Mifflintown, Juniata County, to be recycled in its methane digester and used to power their farm.
By promoting the recycling message with media, consumers are reminded that dairy farmers are committed to environmental stewardship year-round, and by using modern technology they are benefiting their local communities.
