The excitement keeps growing for 13-year old Fuel Up to Play 60 Ambassador Samarth.

The eighth grader from Charles Boehm Middle School in Yardley, Pennsylvania has told us about the Google Classroom he set up for the Fuel Up to Play 60 students in his school district during the COVID-19 pandemic. In that Google Classroom, he shares workout pointers, tips to keep kids’ minds healthy and recipes, including dairy-filled smoothies.

And now Samarth is back with some exciting news to share.

For his efforts during the pandemic, the Philadelphia Eagles and the NFL have rewarded Samarth with the opportunity to help announce one of the Eagles’ draft picks this coming Saturday during the NFL draft!

Samarth has recorded a message about the Fuel Up to Play 60 program and an intro for the Eagles’ pick, which will air on television before the Eagles’ selection is announced.

“It’s crazy! I was totally shocked when I got the call,” Samarth said. “I was like, ‘Is this really happening?’ So many thoughts were running through my head. It was mind-blowing!”

The NFL draft starts on Thursday with Round 1, continues Friday with Rounds 2-3, and finishes up on Saturday with Rounds 4-7, which is when Samarth will announce a pick on behalf of the Eagles, his favorite NFL team.

“I pulled my parents aside to tell them, and they couldn’t believe it, either,” Samarth said. “They’re extremely proud of me, too. And I couldn’t be here with this opportunity without their support.”

Though announcing the Eagles’ draft choice is a milestone Samarth is very proud of, he still wants to share his central message of healthy eating with dairy and staying active.

“This is a really cool, mind-blowing opportunity,” Samarth said.

“But I still want to keep the message of Fuel Up to Play 60 going, even while we’re at home. It’s important to me to show we can still do it, even if we’re not at school.”
