Local Dairy Checkoff, Museum Partnership Results in $10,000 Media Publicity
We partnered with Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York, for “Winter on the Farm,” between December 21 and January 5. Nineteen news stories featured the exhibit and its positive messaging about cow care. These broadcast stories plus online stories amassed 1.5 million media impressions and a publicity value of $10,000, with coverage on WHAM TV ABC Rochester, Spectrum News Rochester, WUHF TV FOX Rochester, and WROC TV CBS Rochester. Preliminary numbers for museum attendance are clocked at nearly 29,000 through December 30. More numbers and recaps to follow.

PA Farm Show Dairy Events Drive Media News Stories
The PA Farm Show, held January 4-11, 2025, received multiple media coverage from the butter sculpture unveiling and recycling, Undeniably Dairy Milkshake Contest, Fill a Glass with Hope® fundraiser and more!
Butter Sculpture Unveiling
The unveiling of the 34th butter sculpture, “From Moo to Marvel: Dairy Cows Power Pennsylvania,” on January 2, resulted in hundreds of news stories including USA Today, WHTM TV ABC Harrisburg, WPVI TV ABC Philadelphia, WPMT TV FOX Harrisburg, KDKA TV CBS Pittsburgh, WICU TV NBC Erie, WNEP TV ABC Scranton and WWCP TV FOX Johnston Altoona.
One of the two USA Today stories featured quotes from ADANE CEO talking about the sculptors, “We are absolutely amazed by Jim and Marie’s enduring partnership with the American Dairy Association North East,” said John Chrisman, the organization’s CEO. “Their one-of-a-kind butter sculptures not only captivate and delight audiences but also honor the incredible dedication of our dairy farmers.”

Fill a Glass with Hope®
The 10th Anniversary of Fill a Glass with Hope® was celebrated with a press conference highlighted by the announcement of $181,500 in donations from corporate sponsors to kick off the 2025 campaign. The event garnered significant media attention from including WPMT TV FOX Harrisburg, WHP TV CBS Harrisburg, and WGAL TV NBC Harrisburg.

Undeniably Dairy Milkshake Contest
The Undeniably Dairy Milkshake Contest on January 11 featured four Harrisburg media teams: WHTM TV ABC, WHP TV CBS, WGAL TV NBC and WGAL TV NBC. ABC 27 took home the trophy!

Butter Sculpture Recycling
The Butter Sculpture was recycled on January 12 with assistance from Friendship Community 4-H Club and dairy farmer Brett Reinford from Reinford Farms. Media stations across the state featured news stories, including WPMT TV FOX Harrisburg, WNEP TV ABC Scranton, WTAE TV ABC Pittsburgh, WPVI TV ABC Philadelphia, WGAL TV NBC Harrisburg, KDKA TV CBS Pittsburgh and WPXI TV NBC Pittsburgh.

“Refuel with Chocolate Milk” Meet at The Armory
We were the presenting sponsor of the Refuel With Chocolate Milk Officials Hall of Fame Invitational at The Armory in New York City, starting January 10. New York dairy farmers Audrey Donahoe of ATRASS Farm in Clayville, Jim Davenport of Tollgate Holsteins in Ancramdale, Skip and Holly Hardie of Walnut Ridge Dairy in Lansing, and Kelly Reynolds of Reyncrest Farms in Corfu joined in the fun, along with New York State Dairy Ambassadors Olivia Maslyn of Hemdale Farms in Seneca Castle and Justin Mesch of JLM Dairy in Collins. Several news stories featured local dairy farmers participating in the event, including WKTV CBS Utica, WIBX FM Utica, Hudson Valley 360 and Finger Lakes Daily News. The Springville Journal featured a story on Mesch participating in the event.

National Milk Day
We honored National Milk Day on January 11 with dairy farmer Paul Fouts, from Fouts Farm in Cortland, New York, featured in a story on CNY Central about how comfortable cows produce more milk, showcasing his new milking parlor and how it contributes to the herd’s comfort.

Fill A Glass With Hope® Receives Over $7,000 in Donations
On January 20, ADA North East staff participated in a big check presentation by Massey’s Furniture Barn in Watertown, New York, to the Fill A Glass With Hope® campaign. WWNY TV CBS Watertown ran the story on two stations for a total of nine airings. A total of $7,346 was raised in December by Massey’s Furniture Barn and Sponsors.

In response to a negative Letter to the Editor in the Lake Placid News in northern New York, our Core Crisis, Public Relations and Health Professional teams coordinated a response with Jessica Garay, Assistant Professor of Nutrition at Syracuse University, placed in the Lake Placid News about the benefits of dairy.
