ADA North East distributed a video package to media outlets about Pennsylvania dairy farmers’ efforts to protect waterways and the Chesapeake Bay by planting riparian buffers in honor of the 50th anniversary of National Arbor Day. Seven stories aired on Arbor Day, reaching more than 200,000 viewers on CBS and NBC stations in Harrisburg, Pa., and on ABC in Pittsburgh.

The videos were recorded as part of a public relations campaign sponsored by Pennsylvania Dairy Promotion Program (PDPP) and in partnership with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay. Thousands of trees have been planted on Pennsylvania dairy farms to promote on-farm riparian buffers that to highlight dairy farmers’ commitment to sustainability and to protect local waterways in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
