Each day, dairy farmers put their heart and soul into dairy farming. Their passion for making nutritious milk and commitment to caring for their animals is unwavering in this pandemic, and over the past several years.
Every time we drink a glass of milk or enjoy cheese with crackers or dig into a bowl of ice cream or cook with dairy, we support our dairy farmers. We show them we care. Our enjoyment of dairy inspires dairy farmers to carry on. In turn, they inspire us with their strength and fortitude in the face of the unknown.
Here are some of my (newly tried) favorite dishes using dairy!
Mac & Cheese
This mac & cheese dish I found in the Cabot Creamery Cookbook. It calls for 3 cups of milk, a large block of cheddar cheese and more than a quarter cup of butter.
Cheesy Meatball Sliders
Standing in line at the grocery store waiting my turn at the checkout aisle, these cheesy meatball sliders on the cover of Taste of Home Spring 2020 magazine cover caught my eye. Of course, I went a bit overboard on the cheese!
Banana Cake
This old-fashioned, secret family-recipe banana cake, made with milk and topped with fresh whipped cream, is a satisfying way to end a meal or celebrate a special occasion. Can’t you just taste it?
To our dairy farmers, I make this pledge: You keep making dairy and I’ll find ways to put your dairy products to good use!
We are stronger together.
