Every day, we’re inundated with bad news about the Coronavirus. But, in times of crisis, ordinary people step up and emerge as heroes. This health crisis is no different.
Doctors and nurses fight on the frontlines every day in hospitals and clinics across the country. They put their lives on the line every day and suit up in N-95 respirators, goggles and gowns and rush into rooms to keep their neighbors alive. The hospitals’ support staff, from security to housekeeping, play a critical role in keeping our healthcare facilities safe and clean.
Police officers, fire fighters and emergency services workers continue to come to our aid despite the risk to their own health.
Grocery store employees give us access to much needed nutrition, and food bank volunteers continue working to get food on the tables of the most vulnerable.
Pharmacists work long hours to make sure we have the medication we need, postal workers keep delivering mail and packages, and teachers keep teaching our children in a world where our computers, tablets and phones have turned into classrooms.
The list could go on and on. People across the country have stepped up to do extraordinary things over the last few weeks. Now, dairy farmers across the north east would like to salute our local heroes. In a small gesture of thanks, local dairy farmers will be surprising local heroes with pizzas across the north east over the coming weeks. Follow along on social media as we update each week where pizzas were delivered to thank our local heroes.
So far, pizzas have been delivered to:
- Sinai Hospital’s Emergency Department in Baltimore
- 39th Precinct of the Philadelphia Police Department
- Engine 59, Ladder 18, Medic 4 Units of the Philadelphia Fire Department and EMS
- Teall Avenue Post Office in Syracuse
- Westmoreland Food Bank, Delmond, Pennsylvania
- Shop Rite, Timonium, Maryland

We’ll update this list each week as we donate pizzas to great local heroes all over the north east.
