Throughout July, ADA North East coordinated with local dairy processors, cooperatives and community groups to distribute more than 247,500 gallons of milk to families in need throughout our six-state region, funded with grants from the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP). Total year-to-date, nearly 650,000 gallons of milk have been distributed between CFAP, Nourish New York and the Dairy Farmers of America milk drives, which began in April.
This week, more than 47,200 gallons will be distributed across New York with four drive-through events set:
- July 28 in Oswego, N.Y.
- July 29 in Gilbertsville, N.Y.
- July 29 in Colton, N.Y.
- July 30 in Herkimer, N.Y.
Milk was purchased for these events with funding from CFAP from Dairy Farmers of America, H.P. Hood, and Upstate Niagara Cooperative. Four additional drop-off locations will support local food banks and other organizations.
