Dairy farmer Jason Frye of Pleasant Lane Farm in Latrobe, Pa., was featured for nearly 11 minutes on “Pittsburgh Today Live” on KDKA-TV in a two-segment interview to celebrate National Dairy Month. Frye partnered with ADA North East who coordinated the segment with the news station to build trust with consumers by discussing sustatinabilty and animal care issues. The segments initially racked up more than 100,000 viewer impressions!

ADA North East facilitates these types of interviews with local media stations to ensure that positive, factual dairy messaging is being shared with consumers. The Fryes milk 40 cows with one robotic milker, processing a portion of the milk into cheese under The Creamery at Pleasant Lane Farm label which is sold in Pittsburgh markets, and selling the rest to Turner Dairy in Pittsburgh.

Frye showed the TV reporter his farm’s robotic milking system, explaining the technology and the cows’ comfort with it. They also spent time at the calf barn where Frye explained the importance of caring for calves so they will grow to be “future cheesemakers.”
