As part of ADA North East’s effort to help farmers strengthen relationships and bolster understanding of the dairy industry within the environmental community, we recently participated in the Maryland Association for Environmental & Outdoor Education (MAEOE) conference. Our presentation with information about dairy farmers drew 25 viewers.
We shared information about the U.S. Dairy Net Zero Initiative that focuses on:
- Becoming carbon neutral or better
- Optimize water use while maximizing recycling
- Improve water quality by optimizing utilization of manure and nutrients
We explained our increased emphasis on virtual resources for different audiences, including:
- Virtual Farm Tours
- Dairy Lesson Plans
- Fun on the Farm
- Conservation Informative Videos
ADA North East also participated in a virtual exhibit during the MAEOE conference that brought 16 visitors who downloaded five different online resources related to dairy programs.
