Dairy farmers Lisa Porter of Porterdale Farms, Adams Center, N.Y., and ADA North East board member Peggy Murray and husband Lynn of Murcrest Farms, Copenhagen, N.Y., along with the Jefferson County Dairy Promotion team, participated in a milk distribution drive on Thursday in Watertown, N.Y.

More than 4,000 gallons of milk made available for families in need through Nourish New York and the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP). The milk was purchased from Upstate Niagara Cooperative.

An estimated 2,000 cars passed through the distribution location at the Salmon Run Mall, to receive produce, meat and additional dairy products. Lisa Porter was interviewed by WWNY at the event.

Dairy farmer Joel Riehlman of Venture Farms, Fabius, N.Y., was interviewed by WSYR at the milk distribution where 8,000 gallons of milk was distributed on Wednesday in Syracuse.

ADA North East plans to help facilitate the distribution of more than 200,000 gallons of milk in June. Next week, we will be assisting at additional New York locations and several Pennsylvania locations, including Northwest Philadelphia.
