As part of dairy farmers’ and ADA North East’s Dairy Aisle Reinvention (DAR) program, we recently installed spring-loaded cheese pushers in two Greensburg, Pa., Shop ‘n Save grocery stores to help provide easy access to shoppers’ favorite brands and flavors — which retailers report boosts sales. In fact, cheese contributed to all dairy category sales showing a national growth of 12% through February 2021, compared to the same period a year ago, as reported by Dairy Management Inc.
By providing a convenient shopping experience for consumers, retailers report significant sales growth when cheese pushers and other Dairy Aisle Reinvention merchandising techniques are implemented, including customized signage to showcase the real dairy in the dairy case, featuring local farm families to make the connection to where the milk comes from, and providing nutrition and product use ideas.
