More than 3,000 cars passed through the drive-through donation in Rome, N.Y., Thursday, to receive 8,000 gallons of milk provided through Nourish New York and the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP). ADA North East has worked with milk processors and community partners to facilitate the distribution of more than 40,000 gallons of milk to families in New York and Pennsylvania in the past three weeks through donation events.
More than a dozen additional donation drives are being coordinated through the end of June in New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware, totaling nearly 190,000 gallons of milk.
Since the pandemic began in March, ADA North East has helped to facilitate delivery of more than 250,000 gallons of milk from local dairy farmers and dairy processers to those in need across a six-state region that includes New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia, as well as Washington, D.C.
