New York and Maryland state fairgoers were treated to the celebrity Undeniably Dairy Shake-Off this week, hosted by ADA North East. NewsChannel 9 topped the New York contest with their “Local Wakeup Shakeup” milkshake, and 100.7 The Bay FM won the contest in Maryland with “The Styx Twix.”

Seven teams vied for the top spot in New York, and were judged by the fair’s Michael Tadros, Commissioner of the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Richard Ball, ADA North East President Audrey Donahoe, and New York State Dairy Ambassador Gabby Taylor.
The milkshake contest was part of the fair’s “Dairy Day,” that started with media interviews with dairy ambassadors at the fairgrounds at 5 a.m.! Donahoe then spoke at the Dairy Day Breakfast on behalf of all New York dairy farmers, and the celebratory day wrapped up with four dairy ambassadors participating in the evening parade around the grounds.

Two-time Emmy Award winning host of Maryland Farm and Harvest Joanne Clendening served as the emcee, and judges included Frederick County Alternate Dairy Princess Madison Umberger, Maryland Dairy Princess Morgan Osborn-Wotthlie, and Director of Operations for the state fair Don Denmyer.
