ADA North East’s yogurt programs in school meals add incremental dairy sales increases and keep dairy on school menus. During a two-week test period, yogurt sales increased by 235%!

Forty-two school districts participated in the yogurt test, which resulted in an additional 44,915 4-ounce cups of yogurt served! When expanded to the entire district post-test period, this program impacts more than 249,000 students in 271 schools generating even greater sales outcomes throughout the current and subsequent school years.

For example, Syracuse City Schools, in New York, has started serving 8-ounce yogurt parfaits (the traditional school portion is 4-ounces of yogurt). The district now prepares approximately 2,500 yogurt parfaits a week!
