UNION BRIDGE, MD (July 24, 2023) – Offering a glimpse into the lives of hardworking farmers, American Dairy Association North East launched the fifth season of the popular “This American Dairy Farmer” digital series.

Every gallon of milk has a story, and “This American Dairy Farmer” offers a behind-the-scenes look at dairy farms and the families who operate them, highlighting families, traditions and sustainable food production on local dairy farms, while helping viewers make personal connections with the people who produce their food.

In Season Five’s episode, “Love Blooms at Maryland State Fair,” viewers meet dairy farmer Austin Schwartzbeck, of Peace & Plenty Farm, along with his wife, Lauren Schwartzbeck, a middle school teacher, who also loves raising and showing dairy cows with the best of care.

The Schwartzbecks share the endearing story of how they met at the Maryland State Fair as young cow show competitors. Love bloomed and now their growing family continues in the tradition of dairy farming.

“The Maryland State Fair is sentimental to us. We go back every year, doing what we love together and that is showing cows,” says Austin Schwartzbeck.

Last year, they brought their newborn son to the fair. This year, a new baby girl is expected to join them.

“At Maryland State Fair, we get to show off the hard work that we do as a family and as a couple. Dairy farming is a 365-day job, and a healthy cow with the best care will produce the most quality milk. That’s what we strive for here at Peace & Plenty,” Austin shares.
