To wrap up 2021, American Dairy Association recognized School Meals Heroes! We asked students throughout the region to nominate the school lunch hero at their school who made their days brighter and deserves a shoutout – and students came out in droves to tell us about the amazing people who provide school meals to them!
Today we are featuring Karen Pearson, who works at Marstellar Middle School in Prince William County Public Schools in Virginia.
“I’m just so honored to be recognized!” Pearson told us. “I’m thankful for the job I have and look forward to many more years.”
Students say that Pearson always puts a smile on their faces and that she really cares – making sure food is hot and tasty every day.
“She is caring and kind, and she always puts a smile on my face. We are very lucky to have someone like Ms. Pearson,” said one student.
Pearson is proud of the food she serves, remarking “The meals really are nutritious and delicious! We do most of our items from scratch and I think that makes a difference.”
