Fill a Glass With Hope® is an effort led by American Dairy Association North East to bring fresh milk to families in need. Funds are raised through grants, corporate sponsorships and individual donations who share our passion for feeding communities.
Fill a Glass with Hope was initiated in 2015 by Pennsylvania dairy farmers in partnership with American Dairy Association North East, PA Dairymen’s Association and Feeding Pennsylvania to help food banks purchase milk direct from local dairies to distribute to families in need. ADA North East has expanded the program with retailers in its six-state region. During National Dairy Month, shoppers are encouraged to round up their change at checkout to support Fill a Glass with Hope. Nearly $365,000 was raised in June 2024 to support local distribution of fresh milk.
The 10th anniversary of the Fill a Glass with Hope® campaign – the charitable milk distribution program – launched at the 2025 Pennsylvania Farm Show with sponsorship donations of $181,500.

Fill a Glass With Hope® continues to expand throughout our region through retail promotions that allow consumers to “round-up” at checkout with donations contributing to milk purchases at local food banks.
Retail sponsors of Fill a Glass With Hope® have included Giant, Grand Union, King Kullen, Price Chopper, Safeway, Shoppers, ShopRite, and Weis.
Thanks to generous supporters, the program has distributed more than 41 million servings of fresh milk since it began through a network of pantries, soup kitchen, shelters, and feeding programs.

2022 was a record year with $731,000 raised and 164,700 gallons of milk served to people in need.
The 2024 campaign launched at the Pennsylvania Farm Show where $135,000 was raised.
