English Gardner, U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist in track and field, is part of Team Milk, the MilkPEP (Milk Processor Education Program) campaign that includes U.S. Olympians, Paralympians and hopefuls who are fueled by milk. She also partners with ADA North East to support local dairy farmers and share the importance of milk in her training regimen as she prepares to compete in her second Olympic Games, on the 4×100 relay team, on Thursday, Aug. 5, at 10 a.m.

Gardner joined ADA North East in several events, advocating for milk as one of the foods that has fueled her training. She recently participated in a conversation with the New York State Dairy Princess Shelby Benjamin and her alternates, Holly Niefergold and Elizabeth Hyman; she joined forces with dairy farmer and registered dietitian Abbey Copenhaver from Ivy Lakes Dairy in Stanley, N.Y., to share some tricks and techniques of her trade that high school athletes can use in their own track and field training; and she shared a special message of gratitude with dairy farmers.
